Adler’s Faculty of Continuing Education offers three certificate programs:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
This Certificate Program prepares clinicians to implement and practise cognitive behavioural therapy, the process by which patients understand how their thoughts and feelings influence their behaviour. Beginning with a basic framework addressing depression and anxiety, the certificate will enable graduates looking to provide mental health services to both children and adults who suffer from diagnosed disorders.
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
This Certificate Program is directed at professionals in counselling, social work, psychology, family medicine, psychiatry, nursing and education as well as other human services professionals who wish to develop the clinical skills and knowledge necessary for solution-focused practice.
SFT introduces participants to solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), a respectful, empowering approach to helping that builds on people's existing strengths and resources to find solutions for a wide range of human difficulties.
Mental Health and Addictions
This Certificate Program provides both new and more experienced practitioners a range of integrated learning opportunities, more reflective of the current state of knowledge and practice in the field. With a focus on diagnostic disorders and the core concepts of addictions, the certificate is ideal for those targeting addictions and/or Mood & Bipolar, Anxiety, Psychotic & Substance Use Disorders.
Upon successful completion of any of our three certificate programs, students are able to implement practical applications of their learning to further their professional development and career-enhancing options within their chosen field in mental health.
