Information for International Students

Welcome to the Adler Graduate Professional School.

As the Director of International Programs and as part of the Adler Faculty I am excited to guide you, the potential international student, through the education process of the Master’s of Psychology program at the Adler Graduate Professional School (AGPS).

The Master of Psychology (M. Psy.) program has been designed for students wishing to pursue graduate level psychology or for those already in the field who wish to expand their knowledge base and skills. International students who wish to apply and who do not yet have a bachelor’s degree equivalent to a Canadian bachelor degree are eligible in our program to advance their education through our Transitional Diploma. (For more information please follow the links provided)

Graduate level education in psychology at AGPS has been a presence in Canada since 1978. We welcome a select number of qualified students to join a community of students and faculty dedicated to intellectual development and growth. You will find yourself surrounded in a family atmosphere of learning, where intellectual stimulation, encouragement of creativity, independent thinking and diverse opinions are welcome. The AGPS community values a broad range of experiences, cultures and perspectives.

A Canadian degree is highly valued and recognised by multi- national employers, international governmental and non governmental institutions alike. Students who graduate from AGPS can pursue careers in public policy, education, private practice, clinics and many other fields of psychology. Our aim is to encourage you in intellectual growth and passion, understanding the differences in human nature and existence, engagement in deeper societal questions and learning how you can impact the world around you.

We are located in the heart of Canada’s largest multicultural city of Toronto with close proximity to libraries, lectures, museums, shops, restaurants and many great cultural and other institutions. I hope you will find AGPS as exciting and enriching as many of our previous students have. This is a place that is actively pursuing a multiplicity of ideas, visions and experiences that can be valued as potentials and possibilities of the future. To quote Alfred Adler: “ The science of the mind can only have for its proper goal the understanding of human nature by every human being, and through its use, bring peace to every human soul”

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you find your way on your educational journey.

Sincerely,

Dr. M. Elmpak, C. Psych.
