Adler
WHY ADLER?

Adler’s Faculty of Psychotherapy combines 35 years of graduate education in general knowledge requirements for mental health treatment providers with the opportunity to choose from a variety of specific in-depth psychotherapy modalities. This combination of professional education breadth and rigour with a depth of treatment experience and practice is unparalleled in Ontario.

The Faculty has taken a leading role in collaborating with other psychotherapy institutions to advocate for maintaining public access to a variety of treatment modalities as the registration of psychotherapists in Ontario has progressed.

Your performance at Adler will be assessed at the same level as our M.Psy students, resulting in a transcript that should be acceptable by any examining body.

Adler remains at the forefront of the latest development for practicing professionals in the province of Ontario, and our Faculty are actively involved in the transitioning process for existing practitioners.

Adler Graduate Professional School's mission is to practice what we teach in order to transform ourselves, our organizations, and the world. We do this by "transforming teaching into learning, careers into callings, and theory into practice and vice-versa."   Since 1978, we have been a leader in the field of human services education, with the first private master-level graduate program in Ontario and the first ICF-accredited coach training program in Canada.

In keeping with these values, ADLER's Faculty of Psychotherapy has decided that the ever-developing field of Psychotherapy and our students deserve the very best:  a master-level degree.

Pursuing this option will take at least two years, during which we will no longer be accepting applications for the ADLER Psychotherapy Diploma. However, candidates who wish to register with either the CRPO or the CPO may apply to our Master of Psychology Degree program.

We will still be offering the following certificate, graduate certificate, and diploma courses as professional development:

  • Modality-Specific program in Adlerian Integrative Psychotherapy

  • Modality-Specific program in Adler Trauma Therapy

  • Modality-Specific program in Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy

  • Therapeutic Play Certificate

  • Diploma in Play Therapy for professionals already working with children and adolescents

For information on all these programs please contact psychotherapy@adler.ca

We also hope to see you at the Many Hearts of Psychotherapy events held each month at ADLER.
