Continuing Education

Covid-19 Update - April 1, 2020

For the last few weeks all ADLER staff have been working remotely to ensure everyone’s safety. We have also moved the majority of our Master of Psychology degree courses to the remote platform, Zoom.  Thanks to everyone's hard work and the faculty and student’s willingness to dive in to this new reality, this transition has gone extremely well.

Continuing Education courses continue to be offered virtually whenever possible. We also have an extensive resource of online courses for those wishing to work independently.

As always, our main objective is to protect the health and safety of everyone in our community, as we help to play our part to “flatten the curve”, by social distancing and self isolation. We are now planning the classes that are scheduled after the Easter break through until at least the end of May.  At this point there is no way to know how long this difficult situation will last but we want to ensure we are prepared for an extended period if necessary.

Although our physical location is closed, staff are working remotely, and we can be reached at 416-923-4419 (dial 0 for front desk staff or consult the extension list for all other staff members).

Please take care of yourself, and those in your care. Be safe.

Jim Little, President.

To first enter or subsequently maintain a competent practice in mental health or human services, practitioners require ongoing professional education, as well as opportunities for supervised practice. The Faculty of Continuing Education at ADLER provides both.

ADLER’s Faculty of Continuing Education offers certificate programs that incorporate a case-based learning approach, encompassing theoretical discussion supported by real-life cases, scenarios, and role-playing. This approach provides participants experience with actual day-to-day challenges.

Many ADLER Continuing Education courses qualify for programs like the educational subsidy for social workers, or as continuing education credit hours for the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Contact your organization to determine eligibility of a particular course.
