Cost: $895 +HST. Format: In Person/Virtual over Zoom. This DBT-Informed Certificate Program comprises three weekend sessions. On the first weekend, students will learn the theoretical foundations of the Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Model, and its informed application for individual treatment. On the second weekend, students will have opportunity to practice applying their skills using a standardized actor. On the final weekend, participants will be provided with the knowledge and skills required to run DBT-informed groups—a modality of intervention increasingly being used by mental health agencies for its effectiveness in supporting clients with multiple, complex mental health issues.
Cost: $895 +HST. Format: In Person/Virtual over Zoom. This course addresses key issues in addictions and mental health using a holistic approach. This comprehensive perspective includes the determinants of health and what we know about the biological, psycho-social, and cultural factors. Evidence-informed clinical methods and tools will be introduced and practiced to identify, assess and provide treatment. The course is taught by a team of experienced practitioners and researchers and is open to community participants as well as students in Adler’s Master’s in Psychology program.
Cost: 299 +HST. Format: In Person/Virtual over Zoom. This program teaches students to use mindfulness to engage in daily life, regulate difficult emotions, and develop a feeling of safety in the body. Concepts from sensorimotor psychotherapy, such as the “window of tolerance” and the basics of neuroscience, are taught within this program to help participants understand the importance of modulating arousal in order to stay well. There will also be time for in-session practice teaching of exercises and guided meditations.
Cost: $895 +HST. Format: Online Self-Directed. Suitable for both community and in-patient practitioners, this 36-hour online course focuses on the protocols and application of DBT. Students learn how to apply these strategies across many client contexts to successfully support the client toward stabilization and long-term mental health. The course must be completed within a maximum of 12 weeks.
Cost: $895 +HST. Format: Online Self-Directed. Fundamental Skills for Therapists and Allied Health (40 Hours). Regardless of modality preferred, mental health workers of every kind must arm themselves with at least a basic knowledge of trauma and its’ impacts on people. All too often, the word “trauma” is used to describe an event, rather than it’s correct meaning: the lasting responses of emotional, physical and cognitive symptoms, that come from living through horrible events.
Cost: $950 +HST. Format: Online Self-Directed. Suitable for any aspiring supervisor, regardless of modality, this 40-hour online course introduces emerging supervisors to methods, practices and metrics that guide the supervision pathway. Students will require access to a live supervisee who is either a true supervisee, or a colleague who is willing to be a “test” subject. Additionally, students will require 4 supervision encounters from the supervisee as part of the course assignments. At the end of the course, a live 1:1 grading and review of the supervision recording tape/video is provided, with feedback given from an experienced supervisor.
Cost: $895 +HST per module. Format: Online Self-Directed. Approved by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, our online CBT program is a robust training in the skills of this much needed modality. During studies, students proceed through written lectures, talks, case studies and video demonstrations, and complete practice assignments along the way. Students receive personalized, attentive feedback from a veteran teaching team known to make online learning fun and interesting.
Cost: $495 +HST. Format: Online Self-Directed. Therapists will regularly find themselves in conversations with clients that are characterized by ambivalence, uncertainty, and low motivation. This is normal. Once referred to as “resistance,” therapists today must understand how they contribute to or take away from increased motivation with people at all stages of the change cycle. This course gives students a required toolkit that empowers them to rely not on the clients “will,” but on powerful, evocative questions that create change through strong coaching and an effective form of dialogue within the therapeutic relationship.
Cost: $495 +HST. Format: Online Self-Directed. In this course, students will learn about the necessary business steps required to develop a successful private practice. This course has been tailored to students who are trained in psychotherapy but still require guidance concerning the business-side of their career paths. Presented by a 40-year veteran practitioner and regulator, students will receive direction on how to start their practice from the ground up, insights on regulation and supervisory considerations, and a downloadable course-pack of private practice start-up tools.
Cost: $1450 +HST per module. Format: Format: Live over Zoom / Self-Directed Online Modules. The Certificate in Applied Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy program contains two courses: Foundations of Practice and Broader Clinical Applications for Healing the Whole Person. IFS is a non-pathologizing model of psychotherapy that recognizes the client’s capacity for self-healing. Based on the emerging paradigm that acknowledges the plurality of the mind, IFS embraces that we are complex beings with multiple “parts” or subpersonalities. Whereas other therapeutic approaches try to get rid of parts deemed unhelpful, critical or problematic, IFS honours the protective nature of these parts and has the methodology to facilitate their release from their extreme roles.

Well at Work: A Coach Training Program for Professionals that Manage Workplace Mental Health is a training meant to help leaders, coaches and consultants become more competently able to address one of the most relevant workplace needs into the foreseeable future: the development of mental health and wellbeing at work. Students may opt to participate in Stream 1, Working with Individuals only, or they may choose to also attend Stream 2, Wellbeing at Work: Leaders, Teams & Organizational Culture. With a class size of no more than 20, we will work together to learn a highly specialized set of skills that include how to motivate others, how to create psychological safety at work, and how to achieve cultures of deep trust.
Cost: by Inquiry. Format: Hybrid. Designed for groups from organizations or corporations of at least 10 participants, we offer a hybrid program at a reduced cost. This format offers synchronous instruction with an instructor live on Zoom, plus online requirements to be fulfilled in-between class times.

The Post-Pandemic Leadership program is a coaching program for organizations that equips leaders and their teams to adapt and thrive in the post-pandemic environment. It does this through a training that is set squarely at the intersection of what most workplaces find daunting at this unique time; the intersection of productivity and mental health. Large coaching talks are used to address the incredible potential for work places in the post-pandemic landscape. To go deeper, leaders will continue learning through Leadership Circles, addressing specific engagement challenges and learning how to use practical tools for teams to succeed.
