Matthew Fountain is an Ojibwe from Garden River and M’Chigeeng First Nation. Born and raised in Toronto he works as an Osh-kaa-be-wis (Traditional Helper) assisting Traditional Healers, Medicine People, Elders, and ceremonies. As an Oshkaabewis he is responsible for the collection and preparation of traditional medicines, assisting in ceremonies such as the sweat lodge, and facilitating cultural circles e.g. teaching and sharing circles. When he is not working Matthew spends his time in nature visiting with his family.
